Mission Statement

The Georgia Chapter of the Government Management Information Sciences is continually blazing new frontiers to better serve the public and governmental agencies through sharing of knowledge in the field of Information Technology.

The purpose of GMIS is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and techniques; to foster enhancement in hardware, software and communication developments as they relate to government activities.

Over twenty-five years ago, a group of computer professionals, realizing all of us need help from time to time, organized GMIS to foster sharing among all levels of government involved in our endless world of technology. Not to be confused with other user groups, GMIS focuses solely on sharing situations related to government information processing.
