We invite you to attend the Georgia GMIS Conference “Back to the Future” Spring Conference on historic Jekyll Island, Georgia. It's available on UGA's Website (http://www.cviog.uga.edu/gmis).
This conference will give you the opportunity to learn how the core competencies of Team Dynamics that can be applied in the environments unique to state and local governments as well as a topic that impacts everyone, Cyber Security. The interactive sessions will include information related to your environment, along with up-to-date information and detection methods.
Our LGCIO (Local Government Chief Information Officer) and CGCIO™ (Certified Government Chief Information Officer™) programs will be covering the core competencies of "Team Dynamics" on Monday and "Cyber Security" on Tuesday. Once again the CGCIO™ courses will begin on Sunday.
GA GMIS in collaboration with our Spring Premier Technical Training partner, TIG, will be offering the highly acclaimed Geek Trak. This course is designed for highly technical professional staff who support and enable our users and communities across Georgia. For this conference's Geek Trak, we will be offering Windows Server Administration 2012. We are offering this industry standard program to any GA GMIS member. It will be limited to the first 20 paid registrations. Geek Trak will begin on Sunday afternoon, so you may want to reserve a room for Saturday night to ensure you don't miss anything. We have lined up a dynamite instructor that brings a plethora of skills and knowledge so be ready to learn!
Our returning instructor, Steven White, has been teaching at Southern Crescent Technical College for 20 years. He is also the program coordinator for the college's networking specialist program. Steven White was one of the founding instructors for the Cisco Academy in the Southern Crescent area in 1999. He is Cisco CCNA, CCNP, and CCAI certified. Some of his graduates have gone on to work for Google, Microsoft, French Orange Group, Southern Company, and many other large organizations throughout Georgia.
Geek Trak will run parallel to the LGCIO, an educational endeavor with our strategic partner, the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government. With LGCIO and Geek Trak, Georgia GMIS is continuing to provide high quality training and education for today's technologists and leaders serving Georgia's state and local professionals, as well as other agencies, schools and communities. We will have networking opportunities with your peers, IT leaders and solution providers.
Registration cost for the conference are $325 for LGCIO attendees and $425 for Geek Trak attendees. Geek Trak registration includes expert instruction, training labs and course materials.
