Georgia GMIS - Spring 2016 Conference
May 1 - 5, 2016
King and Prince Resort, St. Simons Island

We invite you to attend the Georgia GMIS Conference “Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On” Spring 2016 Tour. Join us and experience life as a Parrothead while contemplating the workplace you have left behind, if only for a few days.

Our LGCIO (Local Government Chief Information Officer) Program will be reef diving into the competency of organizational culture and politics. This conference will give you the opportunity to take a deep breath and learn how an understanding and awareness of organizational culture will help the IT executive, administrator, or aspiring manager navigate more effectively through the state or local government environment and increase the likelihood your agenda will be advanced.

By popular demand, Georgia GMIS will again be offering the highly acclaimed Geek Trak, designed for highly technical professional staff who support and enable our users and communities across Georgia. In collaboration with our Spring 2016 Premier Technical Training partner, Interdev, Georgia GMIS is proud to offer Security+ training.

It will be limited to the first 20 paid registrations.  Geek Trak will begin on Sunday at 12:00 noon, so you may want to reserve a room for Saturday night to ensure you don’t miss anything.  Steven White will be our returning instructor and is excited to impart his expert knowledge on all who attend.  As an added bonus, we will be including a CompTIA Security+ testing voucher to the first 15 Geek Trak registrations (a $200 value)!

Go ahead and book your hotel rooms!  We will be staying at the King & Prince in St. Simon’s Island.  You can make your reservations by calling 912-638-3631.  Remember to mention you will be attending the Georgia GMIS conference to get the negotiated rate of $171 per night (plus $5 in taxes that governments and state agencies are not exempt from paying).  Parking is free.

Registration is available at http://www.cviog.uga.edu/gagmis.  Registration costs have remained $325 for LGCIO attendees and $425 for Geek Trak.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  It's going ot be great, we hope to see you on St. Simons Island!
